I've encountered this a few times now when joining a quest via request. If I get the message during the loading screen that it has ended, I seem to get stuck on this loading screen. I can't close the message box and after waiting a few mins, I don't return back to the hub. I would have to close the game down. Usually I can fix it without that ^ much effort. Join ANY session, when the offline only option appears accept it and load into the game world. Save. Quit properly. Reload game. Join any session (if it works you're done) if it forces offline again join then go to quest board and try to join any session. If they don't join your quest, they won't appear in your quest, people can still respond to other players SoS even when in your Lobby.... You should get a join request message when they accept your flare and then a "player joining, monster difficulty adjusted" message when they finish preparations and actually join the mission.
